In 2008, Special Kids Day added a new event to its calendar: Carnival Day.
Through a partnership with Elmhurst Jaycees, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the City of Elmhurst, Special Kids Day is able to provide two hours of carnival rides at Elmfest exclusive to special needs children and their families free of charge.
By eliminating the crowds and long waits for rides, these children can enjoy the fun of carnival rides along with refreshments, face painting and games without the stresses an outdoor festival can create.
